You might be a Halo 2 Gamer if…

You think that it takes more than one shotgun blast to kill something.

You think grenades should stick to things.

You think you can flip over cars with the push of a button

Your idea of running is moving your left thumb.

You visualize good vs. evil in terms of red and blue, not black and white.

You think the most annoying part of being shot is loosing your zoom.

You think snipping is an acceptable pastime.

You view your car as a battering ram.

You use the term “dual wielding” in everyday conversations.

You think old pistols have scopes and new ones don’t.

You get offended if someone calls a battle rifle an assault rifle.

You think of aliens when you hear about “the people of the covenant.”

You actually use the white and black buttons on the controller.

And finally, you might be a Halo 2 Gamer if you know if you like your axis inverted.

At least in our modern society, the principles of convenience and privacy fight against each other. If one tries to think of the most private life someone can live, images of a hermit come to mind. Hermits hardly have a convenient life. If one tries to think of the most convenient lifestyle, a person would have servants to do everything for him or her, which would mean that the person could have no secrets. Sadly, the middle ground is no exception. The use of credit cards is obviously convenient, but it also enables one’s financial stability to be recorded. Cell phones make it so that a person can be located. Our computers keep a record of all the sites we visit for many conveniences. My question concerns the ethical implications of new technologies. What company is not trying to make their product more convenient? Will this mean we will have less and less privacy in the future? Is that such a terrible idea? I, personally, have thought of many ways to make life more convenient, but they will all impact privacy. But I am unsure if the convenience they provide justifies the loss of privacy.

After reading the responses to my survey, I feel I need to clarify my stance toward the Trinity.

I believe in God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. I do not, however, believe them to be all the same being. I do believe the Bible to be true in that they are one, but it is one like the Bible describes how a husband and a wife are one. While they are one in purpose, they are hardly the same being.

My survey was trying to ask if such a belief should prevent me from being considered a Christian. I fear that some might not have understood that goal (due to my poor communication) and consequently did not respond in such a way that really answered my question. I do appreciate the responses and enjoyed reading them.

Trinity and Religion

I’m taking an informal survey that I would appreciate all visitors to respond to. It will hardly take a second to respond to. Thanks.

Here is what I’d like. If you consider yourself a Christian, would you please state as such and then say if you believe in the doctrine of the Trinity. (Trinity meaning that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are the same entity.) If you do not consider yourself a Christian or unsure if you are, please state as such and then say if you think that not believing in the Holy Trinity would make someone not a Christian. Thanks.

To Hell in a Handbasket

Ever wonder if a man might be happier in Hell than Heaven? Especially if one believes in Hell not being a fire and pitchfork kind of place. If one doesn’t like living the commandments, wouldn’t one be happier in a place where people didn’t? Perhaps hell is only punishment for those in heaven.
